A Day in the Life of a Nurse

Wake up at 6am, start 12 hour shift at 7am.
Put on cute pink scrubs, makeup, etc.
Drive to work/Take bus to work
Clock in, catch up on yesterday's paperwork.
Make rounds, have conversations with patients while doing daily check-ups (temp, blood pressure, change dressings)
Talk to the patients' doctors, tell them of any changes in condition and help with diagnosis (if the doctor isn't too proud...)
The code alarm goes off, rush in, pull down sheets, prepare crash cart, wait for doctor to take initiative and do what he/she says.
Gunshot victim comes in, talk to EMT, take down condition, history, etc. on new chart. Take care of CPR and stop bleeding, wait for doctor to tell what to do next.
Take lunch, repeat with mid-afternoon rounds, take new patients as they come.
Finish day by finishing paper-work and making sure the night-shift nurses know the nuances of her/his patients, say goodnight to patients, and head home to spend time with family, catch up on TV shows, and have a good night's rest until 6am the next day.
